Payment Methods

Pay Online or by Telephone

Credit card, debit card, and electronic check payments can be made on our website or by calling the telephone number listed below. Credit card, debit card, and electronic check payments are processed by FIS, a service provider for Butler County.

  • FIS adds a service fee for credit card and debit card use. The fee averages 2.35% and will be provided prior to completion of your payment. Butler County does not receive the service fee and it is non-refundable.
  • There is no service fee for electronic check payments.
  • We do not accept credit cards or debit cards in our office.
  • For questions regarding your credit card, debit card, or electronic check payment during non-business hours, please contact FIS at 1-877-513-5465, option 1. During regular business hours, please contact our office at 513-887-3181, option 0.
  • Payments made on our website or by telephone through FIS are considered timely if completed on or before 11:59 P.M. on the due date reflected on your tax bill.

Pay in Person

  • Please have your tax bill with you.
  • Make checks payable to Nancy Nix, Butler County Treasurer.
  • We do not accept credit cards in our office. Please see the online and telephone options listed above.

Mail Payment or Place in Drop Box

  • Include the bottom portion of your tax bill with your payment.
  • If you need a receipt, please return your entire tax bill with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
  • Make checks payable to Nancy Nix, Butler County Treasurer.
  • The drop box for our office is located behind the Government Services Center on Court Street.
  • Please do not mail cash or place cash in the drop box.
  • Payments with a United States Postal Service postmark dated on or before the due date reflected on your tax bill are considered timely. A private meter postmark is not a valid postmark for establishing the payment date.

Escrow Payment Option

The escrow payment option is a free service that allows you to make monthly prepayments on your semi-annual taxes. There are two payment options:

  1. Payment Coupons: Pre-printed coupons are provided by our office.
  2. Automatic Withdrawal (AutoPay). Please see the AutoPay Service option listed below.

AutoPay Service (Automatic Withdrawal)

AutoPay is a free, secure service that allows you to pay your real estate taxes through an automatic deduction from your checking or savings account. There are two payment options:

  1. Monthly Escrow Automatic Withdrawal
  2. Semi-Annual Automatic Withdrawal
